GREATER PARRAMATTA & OLYMPIC PENINSULA CONFERENCE

gpop!|22

Thursday 7 April
Conference: 8:30AM to 1:00PM
Luncheon: 1:00PM to 2:30PM

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join us at GPOP!22, which will take place at Waterview, Sydney Olympic Park on Thursday 7 April.

The GPOP! conference series is the premier gathering of key stakeholders in business, community and government to spotlight the opportunities and challenges facing the Olympic Peninsula. Complementary to our Westmead conference series, the GPOP!22 conference will focus on the future opportunities for Parramatta CBD, Parramatta River Communities and Sydney Olympic Park.

The population for the City of Parramatta was conservatively forecast to increase by 253,285 persons (108.04% growth between 2016 and 2041), at an average annual change rate of 2.97%.

Transport projects like Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 and 2 and Sydney Metro West will strengthen the connection between Sydney and Parramatta, and between Parramatta and its surrounding communities making it a more attractive destination for jobs and investment. Smart placemaking and improving transport connectivity to the Olympic Peninsula are the key pillars to ensure that the precinct can reach its full potential as a residential, employment and entertainment super precinct.

At our last event we launched a blueprint, Relight the Flame: A five point plan to complete the Sydney Olympic vision, which set out some of the key priorities for the precinct.

While some of those visions have been realised, the pandemic also changed government thinking. The aim of this event is to bring the attention back to the centre of the city and address unfinished business, with our sessions designed to explore themes such as:

  • How do we continue to build on the billion dollars of public and private investment in GPOP?

  • What will the long term impact of COVID be on the future of work and the growth of Sydney’s central city?

  • What are the missing pieces that are needed to build a dynamic 24 hour economy that supports work, leisure and play locally?

  • What are the roles of brownfields sites like Camellia in expanding the residential and employment footprint of Parramatta?

  • How do we lock in the legacy of the best Olympic Games ever and finally deliver on the potential of Sydney Olympic Park as a lifestyle super precinct?

With presentations from some of the best minds in Australia, this conference will focus on the strategy of making Greater Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park great places to attract investment and people.

We hope you can join us.
